Meagan closed the hotel door behind them, engaged the deadbolt, slotted and slid the security chain into place, and chuckled. A bit creepily in Chris’ opinion.
“Finally,” she purred, taking her overnight bag over to the bed and rummaging around in its depths. “It’s been a long time since I’ve had you all to myself. And this time you can’t use Emily as an excuse to run off and leave me alone.”
“Oh, please, no,” Chris pleaded. “Not this again.”
“Oh, yes, sweetie. We are going to do it and I’m not taking no for an answer.”
Chris rubbed his eyes wearily. “You know, after a while, hacking people’s private servers loses its luster.”
“It’ll be fun,” Meagan insisted, holding up her laptop and a mobile hotspot. “Somebody at the Schonbrunn Zoo is up to something weird, and nobody can charm their way past a firewall like you.”
She paused for a carefully considered 1.35 seconds before setting the bait. “I’ll set you up with a back channel to the private tiger cub cam.”
