Twice Told Thomas
By P.D. Haggerty
Forty-five-year-old Thomas McElvaney awakens the morning after his birthday to find he’s somehow traveled back in time to his childhood, living in his parent’s home, and with another whole life before him. He has no idea why this has happened, what is behind it, or what he’s supposed to do.
Literally overnight, Thomas finds himself a nine-year-old child again, although with all the memories of his previous life. But what good is knowing what is to come (at least vaguely) if he’s still constrained by an 8 pm bedtime and shacked to the elementary school academic calendar?
Day by day, Thomas is going to relive his life, interacting with key points that seemed inconsequential the first time around. But what should he change? Or not change? In fact, what is it possible to change? For good, or for bad, he has been given a chance to re-write his life. But he’s certainly not looking forward to going through puberty — again.
