Coming 2026: A collection of related short fiction set in Hyperion's Universe.
The fourth volume in the Hyperion and Meagan Adventures features a collection of somewhat related short fiction which, taken as a whole covers yet another year in our hero’s lives as Kaylee Tranter transitions from High School to College.
This entry will be updated as additional stories are written.
Estimated publication date is mumble 2026
Expulsion: Kaylee Tranter is in a bind. She’s gained a boyfriend, but the rival for his affections didn’t take the decision well. And now, on the eve of graduation, Kaylee discovers she’s the victim of a sinister revenge plot.
If she wants to graduate and go with her life she’s going to need to defuse the situation without anyone finding out.
In theory, it’s a simple mission: Infiltrate, recover, and return. The details are a bit more complicated. The location is her High School. The contraband is her English teacher’s grade book. And the drop is the teacher’s break room. A room which is always locked, and filled with witnesses.
She’s going to need help to get out of the mess, but all her friends are otherwise occupied. All—but one—Hyperion, the talking, sarcastic, asocial, Eurasian Lynx, who will obviously blend in seamlessly in building full of exhausted teachers and fed-up teenagers.
Before she’s a dozen steps into the building, the complications have already begun to pile on.
Maybe expulsion isn’t as bad as it sounds.
Grounded: Hyperion can’t understand what he did wrong. All he did was interfere in Kaylee’s life without her knowledge. And for that he’s been grounded. He’s going to need the wisdom of his human friends if he’s going to be able to figure out exactly why deleting text messages from her boyfriend, and blocking all communications from him could be considered a bad thing.
The Slayer of Rats: Kaylee and Kevin are given the opportunity to spend the weekend, all alone, at Meagan’s. All alone except, of course, for Hyperion. But what kind of mischief could two teenagers get into, all alone in wilds of Maine? And can Hyperion keep disaster at bay while honoring his pledge not to interfere?
Benjamin Bunny: Benjamin is a twelve-year old boy with a dangerous secret. One Meagan and Kristina need to take care of. But Meagan is too well known by the bad guys, and all other so-called responsible adults are unavailable. So, logically, back-up falls to Kaylee and Kevin. It’s all perfectly safe of course. Except the two teens are having a bit of a rough patch. And perfectly safe isn’t in Hyperion’s Universe’s vocabulary. And, just for fun, Kaylee’s roommate is starting to suspect things aren’t quite right.
Adoption: What do you do when you find a British secret agent up for adoption in the pet store’s cat center? Hyperion’s universe may very well be the only place where you can ask that question and not have people question your sanity.
